Tour of Homes

This year's annual Tour of Homes will take place on

December 7, 2025

The year the first $10,000.00 raised will go to CASA's Happy Place. This project is to develop a comfortable space within the new CASA for Hunt County office. This will allow the children served by CASA of Hunt County to visit with their CASA Advocate, any siblings that are not placed with him/her and approved relatives.  This space will include comfortable seating, soft rugs, tables/chairs, interactive games and books for the children as well as shelving and storage.  The best bonding moments are when the CASA Advocate can sit comfortably with their CASA child/children and read to them, play games and spend quality time with them.

The remainder of the funds raised will go to service projects in our community.

Each year our community looks forward to local homeowners opening their festively decorated homes on the first Sunday of December for the Annual Altrusa Tour of Homes.  For over 50 years our club has held this event where a portion of our proceeds go to one local non profit and the additional funds raised are used by our club for other projects that include books for elementary students, hygiene kits for those in need, items for children in CPS, and other community needs.

Our donation was able to build 3 homes in Kenya!

Five of us—Frances, Mary, Kathleen, Rachael, and D'Anna
traveled to Quebec City for the 2025
Altrusa International Convention, “Rocking the Tartan.” Along the way, we enjoyed seeing
Niagara Falls from both the U.S. and Canadian sides. With 340 Altrusans in attendance,
including 49 from District Nine, the convention was full of inspiration, fellowship, and
celebration. We were proud to be named a Distinguished Club for both years of the biennium,
and I had the honor of carrying our banner in the Parade of Banners. Keynote speakers included
Rachel Hollingsworth and Tim Suter, who now leads Make a Difference DKC, a nonprofit
fighting world hunger. Workshops on literacy partnerships and celebrating UN Days gave us
practical new service ideas. We ended the week with the lively Canadian Flare/Rocking the
Tartan event, where we even tried poutine—Frances’s favorite!
