Texas Altrusa clubs will be celebrating 100 years of service to Texas in April 2023, and YOU are invited to join our celebration!

Founded in April 1917, Altrusa International is the first, original, women’s service organization in the nation.  The first Altrusa club in the State of Texas was chartered five years later in April 1923 in Austin, TX.

Our Texas-size party will be held at District Conference in Grapevine the weekend of April 21-23, 2023.  Part of our celebration will be a big centennial party on Friday night that you won’t want to miss!  We will also have a “100th Anniversary” video that will highlight each of our club’s history.  Our final celebration will be Sunday, the closing day of conference, that will usher in the next 100 years of service to Texas.

The 100th Anniversary Committee has designed a special charm to mark this once-in-a-lifetime event.  They will sell for $23 and can be pre-ordered on this CHARM PRE-ORDER LINK.

A “Century History Book” will be produced showing the impact of 100 years of service in our Texas communities.  The book will include historical documents, our leadership, projects, and information highlighting each club and the service they have given their communities since they were chartered. The celebration events at conference will also be included in the book.  Orders for the book will be taken at conference as well as on the District website.

You and your club are invited to show your support and appreciation for the service of your club and your leadership by submitting either a “brag” or a larger ad that will appear in the conference slide shows, the history book, on our social media page or in the video. The ad levels and order form will also be available soon on the District Website.
We hope every District Nine Altrusan will make a special effort to join us in Grapevine for our “Texas Size” celebration of Altrusa in Texas.
